SAN MATEO, CA -- Online calendar company Zvents has announced the closing of its Series A funding round in the amount of $7 million. The company, which is developing a search engine for events, was founded in March of 2005 by Ethan Stock and Tyler Kovacs. Concurrent with the round, the company announced the hiring of Gordon Rios as CTO. Investors included VantagePoint Venture Partners, who led the round, Red Rock Ventures and NetService Ventures.
